Registration Information:
- Registration Dates: As the season approaches, CMHA must determine the number of teams we are able to offer at each age level, which is dependent on the number of players who register. The numbers need to be determined as soon as possible so league schedules can be prepared, coaches can be identified and practice schedules created. Therefore, we ask you to please register your player ASAP.

- Registrations after October 4th will be accepted on a case by case basis, depending on the availability of space on the corresponding team.

- Registration Fees Discounts
First Year Player discount - all players who are new to hockey (up to U11) will have $100
credit applied to their registration fees. Please email the registrar to advise.
Family Plan discount - families with three or more children registering with CMHA, with no
first year player discount or U7 player, will pay full rate for the older children and half-
price for the youngest child. You must contact the registrar for this discount.
We realize hockey fees are not cheap and CMHA offers our members the opportunity to pay
in instalments (see table above). We have broken the payments up into four instalments this season. The HCR allows for personalized payment plans to be made.We do ask that ALL final payments are made by November 30th, 2024. Payments not made by this date will affect your child’s ability to play.
NEW for 2024 - Payments will now be made in the HCR, from your account, by credit card or debit card through the SportsPay system. Users will be charged a 1.5% fee by SportsPay.
This new system applies payments automatically to your HCR account. In previous
years, each e-transfer had to be applied manually by our registrar and treasurer, to each account, making for a very time consuming process. This is the only way we will be accepting season registration payments this year and moving forward.
If your player chooses to stop playing hockey within CMHA, a registration refund may be
available, as follows: Before completion of tryouts, full refund. On or before November 15th 2024, 2/3 refund. On or before January 3rd 2025, 1/3 refund. After January 3rd 2025, no refund.
Families requiring financial assistance for hockey can apply directly to the following programs:

- CMHA 50/50 Tickets and HNB Fundraiser Tickets
- CMHA’s 50/50 tickets
Each player gets 10 of our 50/50 tickets ($10/ticket) and 10 HNB tickets upon registration. The cost of both of these is included in the registration FEES. This is our biggest fundraiser and we encourage families to sell these tickets. CMHA 50/50 tickets - this fundraiser has been very successful and helps support the costsof our hockey program. CMHA players are asked to sell 15 of our 50/50 tickets each. These tickets will be distributed to players once their team is in place. 10 of these tickets are paid for in registration fees, families have the option to sell these to recoup the $100 they paid or put their name on them. The 5 additional tickets are given as an incentive for teams, if each
team member sells the additional 5 tickets, the team receives $250.00 in team money. All tickets should be sold and returned to managers along with $50, by December 16, 2024.There are 10 weekly draws that begin in January 2025. Videos of the live draws and the winners will be posted on our Facebook page weekly.
These tickets are mandated by HNB, they are usually green or yellow in color. HNB asks that all players sell 10 of these tickets, they are $5.00 each. CMHA includes the price of these tickets in our registration FEES, so families can sell them and recoup the fee or they can put their own name on them. These tickets are to be returned to the arenas and deposited in the HNB box near the canteens by December 16th 2024. These are distributed with the CMHA 50/50 tickets.
Miscellaneous Items:
- Respect in Sport: Every new player must have one parent/guardian complete the Respect in Sport Parent Program at https://hnbparent.respectgroupinc.com/ This is a mandatory program that is free of charge, required by Hockey New Brunswick. It must be completed by December 1st or the child will be removed from the ice, as mandated by HNB.
- Competitive Team Tryouts: In U11, U13, U15, CMHA will be forming competitive teams. Tryouts will begin October 7th 2024. Stay tuned for schedules. Tryout fees are $20.00 for each player. (Not included with Skills & Drills this season). Outside of CMHA - $30.00 tryout fee.
- Tournaments: Each division playing within CMHA will host their own home tournament during the season. Parent support is crucial to the success of these home tournaments, they are all run by the team itself and not the association. Each team within CMHA may also choose to attend some away tournaments at an extra cost, to be decided by the team volunteers. Be prepared to pay your team manager for away tournaments.
- Jerseys: Jerseys are a huge expense to our association. They are the property of CMHA. The longevity of our jerseys helps to keep costs low for players. Please note the following highlights: players are encouraged to keep their jerseys in a jersey bag, please keep them clean/washing with cold water
- Ice Times: Once the practice schedule for the season has been created and confirmed, it will be posted on our Facebook page and our website.
-
- Practices - CMHA ensures each team has two practices per week. Although we try to ensure
teams have the ice to themselves for practices, it is possible that practice times
will be shared with another team.
-
- Games - CMHA will cover the cost of 2 exhibition home games for each team. CMHA does
not schedule league games, this is done by our HNB District Director. Teams
will often play 1 or 2 league games per week. Some league games may be
played in the USA.
Team Managers are the go-to person. If you have any questions about your ice times, reach out to your team manager.
- Cross-Border Play: The neighbouring USA communities of Presque Isle and Houlton participate in our District 2 play. As a result, some CMHA league games will be played in the USA. It is the responsibility of CMHA families to familiarize themselves with the current border crossing requirements. For current requirements visit: https://www.cbsa-asfc.gc.ca/menu-eng.html
- Volunteeers: CMHA is only operational thanks to our countless volunteers. Without volunteers our players would be denied the opportunity to play the game they love. Volunteering does come with some legalities volunteers must abide by, please note the following:
-
- Coaches, Managers, Safety People and On-Ice Helpers are required to complete and submit a VSC (Vulnerable Sector Check) and a CRC (Criminal Record Check) for submission to HNB. This is a requirement for ALL team volunteers over the age of 18. VSC/CRC checks are good for 3 years. Check your HCR account to see when yours expires. They can be completed at the Woodstock RCMP detachment, in person, they are free and are done Tues/Wed/Thurs between 9-12&1-4. Please contact our Technical Director for the HNB request letter to take with you. Completed checks must be submitted to our technical director also at technical.carletonminor@gmail.com
- Any volunteers working directly with CMHA players must complete the Respect In Sport Activity Leader course. There’s a cost associated with this online course, but CMHA will reimburse individuals who take the course. Register here https://hnb.respectgroupinc.com We always welcome and encourage people to become involved. If you would like to volunteer, please reach out to one of our board members.
- CMHA Meetings: CMHA holds regular board meetings throughout the season (typically monthly). These dates and times are shared on our Facebook page and website. These are intended for CMHA to communicate with coaches, managers, directors, parents and other volunteers. All are welcome to attend.
- Website: CMHA’s website hosts many documents if you require any further information. We encourage you to take some time to explore those if you have any questions.
